With the rise in the number of coronavirus positive cases in Kolkata, authorities in the city have sealed extensive parts of north and some localities in the central city. Several slums in Kolkata have also been sealed by the police after those areas reported a number of COVID-19 cases. The roads and lanes surrounding these areas have been sealed and some major thoroughfares closed by the police as part of an aggressive containment and treatment strategy against the COVID 19 disease.
