Odisha: 17 new COVID-19 cases reported, state tally rises to 287; death toll at 2

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha surged to 287 after 17 new cases were reported on Saturday, the Health and Family Welfare Department said. Of the fresh cases, 12 were reported from Ganjam, three were detected in Mayurbhanj​ and one each in Bhadrak and Sundergarh districts. With these new patients, the number of active cases now stands at 222, while 63 patients have so far recovered from the disease. Two persons from Bhubaneswar have succumbed to the disease. There are currently 298 people in hospital isolation in the state, an official said.
