India logged 3,06,064 new coronavirus infections on Monday, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,95,43,328, while the active cases climbed to 22,49,335, the highest in 241 days. The death toll climbed to 4,89,848 with 439 fresh fatalities. On Monday, an increase of 62,130 cases was recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 20.75 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 17.03 per cent, according to the ministry. The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 162.26 crore.
