Kerala: Monsoon misses onset date, IMD reports conditions improving

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), on June 4, released its report stating monsoon missed its onset date in Kerala with anticipating a further delay of three to four days. Kerala normally experiences the onset of the southwest monsoon on June 1 with a standard variance of roughly seven days. Earlier, in the mid of May 2023, IMD reported that the monsoon might arrive in Kerala by June 4.
